My Approach to Therapy

As a therapist I work hard to provide a safe, nurturing, and encouraging environment where together, the client and I can work on shifting perspective, gaining insight, and learning coping skills for dealing with life's stressors. My approach to therapy is one of collaboration. My goal is to walk alongside clients and their families as a guide. I strive to give clients the tools and support they need to achieve a level of self mastery so they are able to deeply understand themselves and how they can navigate through this ever-changing world.

I operate from an integrative approach pulling from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused therapy. Therapy is not a one size fits all; each person is unique. Therefore, I tailor each session to meet the client's needs while being sensitive to their desired therapeutic goals. Clients leave sessions with a feeling of relief, knowledge, and self-empowerment that allow them to take every challenge life presents as an opportunity for growth and achievement.

Life can be difficult! However, the degree of difficulty is often impacted by decisions we make in response to situations we encounter. It is my goal to partner with clients and their families to learn, discuss, and apply helpful skills to reduce negative symptoms. Fostering these skills enables us to work together to focus on relationship dynamics in order to improve both decision making and overall quality of life, school, and home experiences. I firmly believe that each moment of life presents us with an opportunity for growth and change. By engaging in the therapeutic process, you have placed yourself or your loved one on the path of self-exploration which has the potential to lead you towards social health and mental wellness. I focus on developing shared goals and tapping into the intrinsic motivation of my clients. Therapy works when you work it!
